bend, not break

There are people that talk.
There are people that listen.

There are people that take.
There are people that give.

The talkers and takers don't always understand that the listeners and givers are people too. They need to talk and take sometimes for themselves.

Talkers and takers remain strong.
Listeners and givers cannot always compete.

christian bashing, my favorite

I realized tonight that christians are probably their own worst enemy. Sure the world gets pissy with christians and sure they get frustrated with them. But when christians start to rip at each other's throat, that's probably where the problem erupts.

Everyone has a different style of evangelism, and of course one group of people is going to think the other is doing it wrong. I am a strong believer is evangelizing through relationships, but having intentional relationships with people. I know quite a few people get where I am coming from and do the same thing.

Some christians are a firm believer of the tract. As awful as they are, they work for some.

I just don't get it when the two styles begin to bash the other for how they connect other people to Christ. Why does it matter how someone comes to know God? Shouldn't we be celebrating the fact that another person was brought into the Kingdom of heaven? Is it really necessary to "hate" another christian because you feel like the way someone else evangelizes cramps your style?

Christians need to get over themselves.
Give the glory to the One who deserves it.

Let people bring people to God how they see fit.

new year, new rules

So almost exactly a year ago I vowed to blog more about my life. As a filmmaker, I am always looking for a good story and I figured if I documented my life, I might come around something good.

A year later, I am still struggling to keep that initial vow.

Hopefully this year will be a better one. Not only with blogging, but all sorts of things. A new year does indeed mean you change how the game is played. After all, who wants to repeat 2008 action for action??
